Acceptance of these terms

By using HonestMile, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.

These terms apply to the HonestMile Android app, honestmileapp.com, and related features provided by HonestMile.

What HonestMile provides

HonestMile is a mileage-recording and recordkeeping tool for people who drive for work or want to maintain organized mileage records.

Features may include mileage recording, trip history, business and personal classification, route review, mileage reports, exports, local backup, Cloud Sync, multiple vehicles and Auto Start.

Some features are available only with HonestMile Pro.

Your mileage records

HonestMile helps you create and organize mileage records, but you remain responsible for reviewing your records and confirming that information such as dates, distances, classifications, locations, odometer readings and business purposes is accurate.

GPS, device sensors, mapping services, operating-system behaviour, signal loss and other technical conditions can affect recorded routes or distances.

Features that estimate, repair or reconstruct route information should be reviewed before you rely on the resulting record.

Tax and bookkeeping information

HonestMile provides recordkeeping tools and general educational information. It does not provide tax, accounting, legal or financial advice.

Tax rules, documentation requirements and allowable expenses vary by jurisdiction and individual circumstances.

You are responsible for determining whether your records meet the requirements that apply to you and for deciding what information to use in a tax return, reimbursement request or other filing.

When needed, consult the relevant tax authority or a qualified professional.

Accounts and Cloud Sync

You can use core HonestMile mileage-recording features without creating or connecting an account.

Account sign-in is used for supported cloud backup and restore features.

You are responsible for maintaining access to the Google account or other credentials used to authenticate your HonestMile account.

Cloud Sync depends on internet connectivity and third-party cloud services. You should keep appropriate copies or exports of records that are important to you.

HonestMile Pro

HonestMile offers an optional Pro subscription that provides additional convenience and automation features.

If you do not continue with Pro, you can continue using the available Free features, including unlimited trip recording.

Billing, renewal and cancellation

HonestMile Pro subscriptions on Android are purchased and managed through Google Play.

After an applicable trial, the subscription renews automatically at the price and billing period shown to you at purchase until it is cancelled.

You can manage or cancel the subscription through the Google Play account used for the purchase.

Deleting your HonestMile account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription.

Payment processing, cancellation controls and any available refund process are handled through Google Play and are also subject to Google Play's applicable terms and policies.

Service availability and changes

We may update, improve, modify or discontinue HonestMile features as the service develops.

Some features depend on Android, Google Play, Google Maps, Firebase, RevenueCat, internet access, device hardware or other third-party services that are outside our direct control.

We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free on every device or in every location.

Your responsibilities

You agree to use HonestMile lawfully and not to interfere with, misuse, reverse engineer where prohibited by law, abuse or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or its backend systems.

You are responsible for the information you enter, edit, export or share through HonestMile and for keeping appropriate backups of records you need to retain.

You should not use HonestMile in a way that distracts you while driving. Configure or review the app only when it is safe and lawful to do so.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how HonestMile handles app and website information, including location data, trip records, Cloud Sync, account information and website analytics.

Instructions for deleting an HonestMile account and associated data are available separately.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

HonestMile is provided as a recordkeeping tool. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided without a guarantee that recorded mileage, routes, estimates, reports or other information will be complete or error-free.

You are responsible for reviewing information before relying on it for tax, reimbursement, bookkeeping or other purposes.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, HonestMile and its developer are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses resulting from use of, or inability to use, the service.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use when HonestMile features, subscriptions or service practices change.

When these terms change, the Last updated date at the top of this page will be revised.

Continued use of HonestMile after updated terms take effect means the updated terms apply to your continued use of the service.
